My home is my castle

When driving through residential areas in villages or on the outskirts of towns, one often sees single-family homes that do everything possible to separate themselves from the outside world.
Fences, hedges, and walls are erected and ultimately serve as a means of retreat and
defense against others and the outside world.
This raises the question: How far will people go to achieve this separation?
What are you willing to do to keep to yourself?
What risks do you take?
The photographs trace the conflict that arises between the attempt to ward off the outside world and the associated consequence—a likely restriction of the inner world.
Excluding others is ultimately a limitation of oneself!?
