If you drive through residential areas in villages or on the outskirts of towns, you often see detached houses that do everything possible to separate themselves from the outside world. Fences, hedges and walls are erected and ultimately serve as a retreat and defense against others and the outside world.
The question arises as to how far people will go to achieve this separation.
What are they prepared to do to keep to themselves?
What risks do they take?
The photographs trace the conflict that arises between the attempt to ward off the outside world and the associated consequence, a probable restriction of the inside.
The exclusion of others is ultimately your own limitation!
