The ongoing series "Used" - documents a process that can regularly be observed on German sidewalks. When the bulky waste is collected, the owners have to place the things they no longer need, that are no longer worth anything to them, that are defective or no longer presentable, in an orderly fashion in front of the house. More or less functional furniture, appliances, electrical goods, household and garden items, old building materials, carpets etc. are lined up in front of the house as if on display. For one or two days, people allow an insight into their otherwise largely secret private lives. Things that were in use until recently are now visible to everyone and give clues to the stories behind the things that are ready for collection in this combination: Children who grow up and leave their parents' home, people who die or move into a retirement home, couples who split up, inventory that has become unusable and is disposed of by the new owner after buying a house...
